thebrokernews Podcast Episode 1: About depression, etc.

thebrokernews today presents the first podcast with Mirela Dimofte and Binci Heeb. In future, this podcast will appear every two weeks on a wide variety of topics.

One of the topics addressed in today’s episode is depression. I will also talk about myself and share things that are unfortunately still taboo today and, in my opinion, should definitely be destigmatized.

Mirela and I not only share a friendship, but also a similar perspective on many exciting topics, as well as problems in the insurance industry. While we both have an Eastern European background – Mirela was born and raised in Romania – my mother came to Switzerland from Hungary in 1956 and always spoke Hungarian with my brother and me. Although I was born in Switzerland, I knew Hungary during the communist era and afterwards.

What separates Mirela and me is 12 years. While I’m one of the baby boomers, Mirela belongs to Generation X. So today we can learn and benefit from each other. For example, we are interested in the 50+ and 60+ generations, which have enormous potential when working with younger people. Another example is how women can get into top positions or that you can still be self-employed when you’re 60+.

We also regularly invite a guest to talk about certain topics. The podcasts are intended to encourage you to think about certain topics and talk about them yourself. Mirela and I have experienced a lot, both professionally and personally, including some good things, but also some very difficult ones. That is why we are convinced that we can provide in-depth knowledge on many topics in the insurance industry and beyond. We believe in the power of ideas to improve our world and in a people-centered economy.
